Future of the future

To think of the future requires imagination and to think of generations entring the world of future, requires a huge content of imagination. While progress is being made at an unprecedented levels, history has taught us that it's wiser to remain humble yet imaginative, Every generation dreams of what life will be like for the next one, and our predictions as humans have been historixally wrong, for better and worse. By previewing upcoming positive or negative events, and their potential consequences, one is able to prefeel the impact such situations might have on their lives. with moderate accuracy.

The future may include many changes in technology, healthcare and the way people live and work. One won't be wrestling with the fact that the world's population is exploding - people are living longer than ever, too. The number of centenarians will increase more than 50 times. In the next couple of decades that increases start to happen we will need better care for the elderly, perhaps to allow more immigrants to try and make up for  ageing workforces and in some cases, declining birthrates. If climate changes force mass migration, then exisitng infrastructure, services, economies may even be stretched to breaking point.

Social media has complicated the way we communicate for better part of decade. Besides weathering away our sense of anonymity and privacy, social media brings with it many problems of cyberbullying too. Though many non-profit organisations and charities have mobilised in their fight against internet trolls, it remains an open question whether law enforcement agencies and social media can fix it or whether it will get worse. Besides, there is also problem of fake news which needs to be settled. In next 30 years or even longer, we may be dealing  with social media issues  of which we have not even considerd yet.

Nuclear energy, growing gap between and poor, rapid urbanisation, driverless cars, bullet trains with large population are going to be a great challenge. How do we ensure safety, fight pollution and to ensure that driverless cars are not a menace on the road?  New technology and devices require rare earth metals to shape up causing strain on Planet's natural sources. It is estimated that mines will run out in next two decades and good subsitutes are hard to come by.

Space tourism, sending humans to other mars to live there might seem to be a domain of billionaires and space agencies becomes more accessible to everybody -  host of new challenges will emerge. Use of drugs, AI dominance to boost brainpower, insipration will effect futurr developments.

As for end-of-the-world extinction scenarios,,it is frankly not likely, but that shouldn't unclear the fact that AI is poised to change the fact how we live and work in inestimable ways. It is also not impossible that specific AI could malfunction or run out of their creators' control leading to human disasters  where lives are lost or millions of dollars wiped out.

That is just a taster of how we may face in future.
