A private hospital, as its name refers, is not owned by Government. Under the present economic system, these hospitals work as a company i.e. by issuing shares to public and donations, if any body gives it to them. Quite some of them have tie ups with the companies by giving discounts to their employees for, if they come to hospital for treatment. To the share holders, they give dividend periodically and their shares are quoted in the share market almost daily. This state of affairs have spoiled the entire health system as they run only after profits.  Doctors are hired and given a monetary target to achieve with in a stipulated period otherwise they are no longer required to serve. The result as I have seen and experienced is that their first choice is to attend to those patients who pay cash for consultation, treatment and so on so forth.  On the other hand, patients from Govt. departments come through Panels established by the Government . Doctors give last chance to such patients,
