Understand and Manage stress levels

Well explains that nothing is fixed or permanent in this world so need not worry about any mishappening. People should equip themselves to cope with the stress levels. 

Stress effects mental, emotional and physical health of a person. Everyone experiencex stress to some degree. The way one responds to stress makes a big difference to one's overall well- being. During stress reaction, harmones like cortisol and adrenaline are released. This speeds the heart rate, slows digestion, shunts blood flows to major muscle groups besides various changes to autonomic nervous functions. When the perceived threat is gone, systems return to normal function by relaxation response. But, in case of chronic stress, relaxation response doesn't occur often enough, and being in a near constant stahe of fight can cause damage to the body. It can also lead to adoption of unhealthy habits by smoking or eating too much which damage the body and create bigger problems in the long run. 

The main four types of stress are Acute stress, Chronic stress, Episodic acute stress, Eustress. Acute stress is brief, Chronic stress is prolonged and Eposodic acute stress is short term but frequent. Positive stress known as Eustress, can be fun and exciting but it can take also a toll. 

Stress influenced conditions are - Heart disease, Hair loss, Obesity, Diabetes, Ulcers, Sexual dysfunction, Tooth and gum disease. There is no single, specific treatment for stress. Treatment focuses on changing situation, implementing relaxation techniques abd treating symptoms and conditions that may have been caused by chronic stress. Some interventions like medical, therapy and alternative medicines may be helpful. 

Even though stress is inevitable, it can be manageable. Following steps are necesary to combat stress -

1. Try to get regular exercise.

2. Learn to recognize the signs of burnout. 

3. Practice mindfulness in your life.

4. Take care of yourself.

5. Progressive muscle re;axation.

6. Deep breathing.

7. Healthy diet.

8. Aromatherapy.

9. Positive self talk. 

10. Gratitude, Evaluating priorities, Social support, Eliminating stressors.

These ae the best short term strategies which can be performed at anytime, free, provides immediate relief. It is important to keep looking for tools which will help in managing life's ups and downs in a healthy way. Keeping stress at a manageable level is important for well being of any individual person.
