Mysteries of Tarot card reading

Many of us are familiar or getting familiar with the use of Tarot cards for divination purposes. Divination is the practice of foretelling of future (prediction) events or discovery of what is hidden by supernatural practices. 

Tarot cards hold endless amount of symbolism also deeply connected to astrology. Each Zodiac sign is represented by a card in the Major Arcana - named or numbered cards in a cardomantic tarot pack given by occultists on the trump cards used for playing cards. Major arcana represents universal human experiences, unexpected bad news, falling in love. Arcana is the specialized knowledge that is mysterious to the uninitiated.  

There are 78 cards in a deck- divided into 22 Major Arcana cards and 56 into Minor Arcana. Major Arcana contains the "names" cards like Death, Devil and the Lovers. Minor Arcana is divided into four suits - Cups, Wands, Swords and Pentacles. Major Arcana represent Spiritual path and the journey. When laid out in order, they tell story of a person setting out in the world encountering different figures and challenges growing and changes as they do so. 

Four suits of Minor Arcana each are associated with a different element -Wands with Fire, Pentacles with Earth,Cups with Water, Swords with Air.  Each of 22 major Arcana cards are associated with either a Zodiac sign (12), Element (4), or a Planet (6) excluding Uranus, Pluto and Neptune. 

Tarot card that corresponds with the Zodiac sign will be associated with similar traits as of the Zodiac sign's and might contain imagery associated with the sign as well. Tarot  card reading is a form of cartomancy (future telling) whereby Practitioner use cards to purportedly gain insight into the past, present or future. They formulate a question, then draw cards to to interpret them for this end. 

Following steps are to be taken for Tarot card readings -

1. Prepare cards - Choosing a deck can be difficult as there are many options are available online and in stores. Each design should be eye-catching to make readers more to become more familiar with meanings faster. 

2. Know the diference between Major and Minor Arcana - Major arcana cards reflect big picture events while minor deals with daily situations. Major arcana are separated into suits - cups, swords, pentacles and wands. Each suit represents an element. Cups are water, Swords are air, Pentacles are earth and Wands are fire. 

3. Know which card spread is right for your intention - Each spread has a different meaning based on the type of question posed by the person being read to. Popular spreads include Celtic cross Past /  present/future  and the week ahead spread. It explains how a present situation may change in future nased on your strengths, weaknesses and other factors. 

4. Shuffle cards - With this step, you are transferring your energy and intentions onto the cards. 

5. Set your inientions as the Tarot card reader. Your thiughts should be focussed on being accurate and helpful.  

6. Read meaning of each card - Need not memorize the meaning of each card, use booklet during each session will help a lot/ \

Tarot comes with practice like any other skill. Daily practice is necessary to undertstand and memorize the meaning of each diferent card. After following these steps, one can start the journey as the tarot reader.
