When will India come out of inferiority complex ?

Don't get me wrong as there are many things which needs improvement in India. But, at the same time, blindly thinking that west is better  than India and we should behave like people in west totally absurd. Indians bending over backwards to please foreigners reflects a deeprooted sense of inferiority.

Mr. Alfred Adler, born on 7th February, 1870 in Vienna who coined the idea of inferiority complex. He was a Austrian physician and psychiatrist best known for forming a schol of thought known as individual psychology. He held that many neurotic symptoms could be traced to over compensation of this feeling. Inferiority complex is a multi - layered disorder that generally has more than one cause. It is meant as lack of self esteem, self confidence and feeling of inadequacy. It is not a diagnosable mental health disorder. Chances are that one experiences feeling of self doubt and uncertainty at some point. So, if a negative self-image effects daily life continuoisly, one might have caught himself in inferiority complex.

Looking back at the Indian history, there was Muslim rule from 11th to 18th century and then the British rule for 200 years have fully uprooted  Before the Britishers came to India, India was the second richest country in the world with Gold in abundant quantities. After some years of their arrival, they brought in their army, took part in politics, dethroned kings and took political and Revenue administration in their hands. They started destroying education system, handicrafts, textile industry (by buying raw materials at a very low prices) and started selling manufactured goods in India thereby draining out huge sums out of India.

India might have gained independence in 1947 but the curse of 'mental slavery' still exists as we need foreigners to vouch for our contents, achievements. At present, the major cause of inferiority complex lies in the education system and the poverty. All the highly paid jobs are based on English language. As long as the Hindi and other Indian languages are not made as medium of education in India, the gap between english and non english speaking people and their inferioroty complex will not go away  People having high standards of talent get inferiority complex since all the well paid jobs are for english speaking persons and quite a large number of companies, industries, business establishments priortise it as a basic condition before giving job.

I have been to UK, Finland, Belgium and other European countries and have seen that besides English for a job in any of the European country, one must have full knowledge of the local language of that country since they give preference to such people. Whatever be your talent, qualifications but that creates a sort of inferiority complex in the minds of people.

So, I think that fault in education system and poverty are the main causes of inferiorty complex  and to weed out such gaps and bring in improvement will bring in India as a developed country and thus shall stand to be well ahead among developed nations of the world.
