Working of Private hospitals in Delhi - An eye opener for the Govt.

A private hospital, as its name refers, is not owned by Government. Under the present economic system, these hospitals work as a company i.e. by issuing shares to public and donations, if any body gives it to them. Quite some of them have tie ups with the companies by giving discounts to their employees for, if they come to hospital for treatment. To the share holders, they give dividend periodically and their shares are quoted in the share market almost daily. This state of affairs have spoiled the entire health system as they run only after profits. 

Doctors are hired and given a monetary target to achieve with in a stipulated period otherwise they are no longer required to serve. The result as I have seen and experienced is that their first choice is to attend to those patients who pay cash for consultation, treatment and so on so forth. 

On the other hand, patients from Govt. departments come through Panels established by the Government . Doctors give last chance to such patients, more so even the appointments to such patients are given in the afternoons or evenings. Reason stated generally are that either the Doctor is in OT, meeting or told to patients to come next day or so. 

Same disparity has been seen in attending the patients. They dump such patients in ICU, as have been done in case of my wife, who was on the panel of DGEHS. My wife was kept for 35 days in ICU at Fortis Escorts Hospital, Okhla, Near Friends colony in September 2021 after removal of stone in her Gal bladder. She was kept in ICU for 35 days where on 11th October 2021, Doctor switched off the oxygen supply and she died. No authority in the hospital has given me any logical reason for keeping her for long stay. I am sure that they must have been watching the bill amount, so when bill crossed Rs.10 lacs, they switched off the oxygen and let the patient die. 

Both the doctors are still on the payroll of the hospital. They must have been awarded  of and assured that hospital has a team of lawyers if I go to court, they will be saved. These fools don't understand that I am a retired person of 72 years, completely broken by the loss of my wife with no direction where to go.  

My humble pray is now to GOD who will take care of all those involved in this case and give them result for their misdeeds. 

The purpose of this post is to make the Govt, sound of such mishaps occurring in the private hospital in Delhi. Govt. is depending a lot on such hospital and funding them generously for Covid patients. But just see, how and in which manner they are managing these funds are used which are purely on business motives. What is purpose of giving  grants blindly to such hospitals. Earning profits, trading shares and giving dividend. Well that is also a big question who are the owners of such shares - again the same corporate who have started such hospitals- needs to be checked ?  

So, in the end, I will say that such hospital will keep on looting poor public and making money for the treatment - doesn't mater even if the patient die because doctors get a pat for earning Rs 10 lakhs for the hospital to achieve their target. 

SHAME ON SUCH SYSTEM- ITS PROMOTERS. THE GOVT. WHO SHOULD TAKE CARE FOR SUCH POOR HEALTH SYSTEM BEFORE IT TAKES A DISASTROUS FORM.
