War with no winner

While watching through the media and reports of happenings in the world, opinion is making strong foothold that war between Russia and Ukraine will certainly going to be a disaster for both of them. The part of land on which this war is being fought is more or less on the same area, from where First and Second world wars started. The final result is known to all. Many economies faced huge sufferings and resorted to restructuring in order to re-establish themselves for which the generations are made to suffer thereafter.

Wars in the history since ancient times were carried out with planning - doesn't matter who won or lost. For instance, one should recollect that in order to stop German forces to move further, Russians have started destroying their own crops so that German forces did not get any food /ration as they move forward.This has resulted into weakening of advance of troops movements. A result of poor planning and the cost was immense to the Germans.

At present, cause of war is stated to be since Russia does not want Ukraine to be a part of NATO maybe due to effect on its trade. Every nation has a right to live in this world in the manner it is considered best by them. Putting pressure and warning the world of bigger war does not seem to be relevant under the present state of affairs. It reflects weakness of planning whereas the problem could have been sorted out by discussions. Moreover, One must consider that nobody will get spared if war turns to take an ugly shape.

Poor planning causes mass destruction of cities and have a long lasting effects on the economy. It is for  both sides who will have to face inflation, shortages, damages to infrastructure, shortfall in working population, disruption in economic activity. Country will have to depend upon foreign grants / aid to establish themselves with no time limit. May go for generations even to stabilize.

Country like Russia on which economic restrictions are imposed and in existence, will be facing significant pressure to function besides facing public non co operation to regain the earlier status. Daily extension of war will be adding to its more burden - humanitarian, financial, trade and a lot more. It will be better if he decides to cease fire and look at the damages done by self in his country. 

As far Ukraine is concerned, which has support of number of countries, financial, military equipment etc. It will be able to manage by deploying these resources - a time consuming activity.

                            It is well said that war settles nothing.

IMF suggestions for India Growth Rate

India's growth accelerated to 7.7.% in 4th quarter of 2017-18 (F.Y.) which was up from 7% in the previous quarter.
