Hospital where patient not treated well are made to die

It is going to happen and not in late future - a menace which is taking shape in the hospital. I am neither a critic nor  author and does not believe in blame game, but do have the right to explain my finding to share with facts to public and my well wishers.The loss to my life is so grave and caused deep injury to me and am still in trauma and sadness which is to continue as long as live.  

By this communication, request to Medical Council of India to look into this matter seriously and save the society from the effect of this menace taking shape slowly. On the one hand, Govt. is serious in saving people's lives from COVID and spending huge sums, and on the other, the hospital striving to increase their earnings by such nuisance by executing wrong practices and playing with the lives of the patients.

Escorts Fortis hospital, Sukhdev Vihar, New Delhi, as I understand the place where the origin of this menace is taking shape and put into practice in a very sophisticated clever manner slowly with the passage of time. The patient came here for not a lengthy procedure of  surgery, but was kept for 35 days in ICU for different ailments which developed in ICU itself and finally made to die because of their utter negligence. It is now being reported that it was due to patient was having old medical problems and old age. 

Coming over to the main course, the patient, was my wife who was admitted for removal of Gal Bladder stone in September this year, was kept for 35 days in ICU even after surgery, was pushed to death due to the utter negligence of the Doctor and his subordinate staff who were made to follow his instructions. This reflects the poor competence level of the doctors of  the hospital who even after having a long list of degrees and flags attached to their names, could not deliver even a proper treatment.  

 The system operates as under-

 1. Get the patient admitted - as it happened in the case of my wife who was admitted for removal of Gal bladder stone after Doctor knowing well the condition and the past medical history.

2. Later, shifted to ICU after surgery and was kept there for 35 days for different reasons. which they never admitted but was grown inside the ICU itself. 

3. As I now understand, instructions used to be given to attending staff in front of me to show that they are seriously attending the patient, but were never seen to be executed after I went out of ICU.They could not explain reason for her going into coma. No Doctor used to be present at that time. Phone calls came to me to sign the papers for the tests whenever they are to be done. We were kept in dark about the treatment inspite of they having seen health hazards growing up daily of different types to my wife for which no responsible doctor was there to clarify, only nursing staff.

4. Slowly, infection was reported as developing in the body. No reason explained. Patient is in ICU. No Doctor was there to look/treat into the infection? Nobody was there to explain. 

5. Lung infection started and they put her on ventilator first in the mouth then on the neck. Result patient became speechless. How this developed? No proper answer.  Again a torture. Doctor said 'condition improving'.

6. Infection developed in the whole body. We were told a day before the end came that following night was serious, Next day morning, Doctor on night duty was to go home so said 'I am going to put off the ventilator' and done so. End came. 

7/ Death certificate was kept ready. Doctor signed it and vanished as it seemed that all have been decided in advance. Reason stated is Sepsis (infection) in the body. Nothing is mentioned as for which purpose she came to hospital and how she was treated? While handing over the body, we were told to cremate her soon as the body started swelling. That showed that they know every thing of the medicines given to her and its after effects.

The whole operation was carried out in a planned manner that when the bill crosses the figure of Rs. 10 lakh, patient is to be pushed to death. Main doctor Verma used to speak in a authoritative manner in front of me which were never got implemented, maybe due to secret instructions and eye wash for me. 

The top authority of the hospital was informed by E mail, replied after week that they will inquire into the incident by some designated doctor (as it seems to me). The report came after 10 days saying that the patient had health problems earlier and age factor also played the role. Then a long list of the treatments given, of which the final result is well known. 

How did the Doctor carried out the operation and spoiled the condition of my wife, of which as the report says, knowing well the conditions of her age and health, nothing is mentioned? 

The inquiry so instituted made by their own senior staff (so to say) is to cover up the whole incident in a well drafted careful manner and written to pass on the entire blame on the patient. They have shown to make clear their intentions that they will never go against the interest of doctor and cover up the whole incident in favor of the hospital which they have done. Nothing is mentioned in the report that how the condition started disturbing while the patient was throughout in ICU for 35 days? 

In fact, a last attempt was again made by the doctor on the evening before her death to sign us the form to take my wife for dialysis as her kidney has  started getting effected besides telling us that it may cause heart attack- knowing well the final results.

What type of doctors are there who knowing well the condition dare to ask for the same? We refused due to her breathing and speech problem (since they have fitted a ventilator in the mouth as well) and falling BP level of my wife. May be they attempted to make more money by increasing the bill? So, my wife left this world without even speaking a single word to us.     

I am still not able to gather that ---Who authorized the doctor to switch off the ventilator, sign death certificate and vanish? What was the course of treatment?  A complete laxity of duty and against the principles of human survival and sanity knowing very well that she will be no more the way they have treated her in a most inhumanly manner. Moreover, Dr. Verma, who was ultimate In-charge of this whole operation, it seems action was taken as decided by him and taken by the duty doctor who switched off the ventilator, sign death certificate and vanished. Very shameful for the hospital and its reputation whose value of the shares in the market is at lowest level if compared to other hospitals in Delhi. After all, what for they have done and what they will get? I curse upon the doctor and the hospital and pray God to let them face the consequences in the same manner as I am facing now.

REQUEST TO MEDICAL COUNCIL OF INDIA - To get the whole incident checked thoroughly by some independent authority since the patient who came for a minor surgery made to stay for a continuous 35 days in ICU and finally in their report says that it was due to her old medical condition and the age. If that be the case, what the Doctors in the hospital have to do and/or have done? Why they did the surgery?

Improvement in the weak governance by the hospital authorities, reasons for the patients staying beyond a week and whose bills are more than a reasonable limit be thoroughly checked to prevent future disasters. 

It seems that these doctors are such a fool enough who knowing well about the condition of the patient took her to OT? No action as to improve her condition seems to had been taken as they are sole responsible for this tragedy which has put my life on a scratch. They could have refused to operate. But their purpose was to earn more and more money, let the patient live or die - that doesn't matter to them.
