Automotive Robots are helping kill Coronavirus

Robots can efficiently disinfect hospitals and kill viruses and bacteria autonomously by using Ultra Violet light and slow down Coronavirus infections thereby limiting the spread of disease without exposing front-line hospital staff to the risk of infection. By now, we had all the strategies for doing this drill wash your hands, keep away from larger groups of people, stay home, avoid travel.

Using available preliminary data, the median time from onset to clinical recovery for mild cases is
2 weeks (app.) and 3-6 weeks for severe and critical disease.  At the top of the list of places to avoid right now are hospitals because that's where the sick people go. But for Health care workers, and the sick people themselves, there's really no other options to prevent the spread of coronavirus through hospitals, keeping surfaces disinfected is really very important. But it's also dirty, dull and (considering what you can get infected) dangerous. That'why it's an ideal task for Autonomous Robots.

UVD Robots is a Danish company making Robots which are able to disinfect patient's rooms and operation theaters in hospitals. They are able to disinfect pretty much anything you point them at. Each Robot is a mobile array of powerful short wave length Ultraviolet (UVC) lights that emit enough energy to literally shred the DNA or RNA of any micro organisms that have the misfortune
of being exposed to them.

The Robots have been operating in China for the past one month or so and the company is sending more to China as fast as they can because they are desperately needed. UV disinfecting technology has been around for about a century. The Robot consists of a mobile base equipped with multiple Lidar sensors and an array of UV lamps mounted on top. To deploy a Robot, you drive to around once using computer. Robot scans the environment and creates a Digital map. You then annotate the map indicating all the rooms and points the Robot should stop to perform disinfecting tasks.

In addition to disinfecting hospitals, there are Robots checking patients for fever, delivering medicines and food.
