How To Keep Kidneys Healthy

The bacteria- fighting drugs can damage kidneys if used too often. It can happen even if you are perfectly healthy, though it is more serious if kidneys don't work as well as they should. Some types like Penicillin, Sulfonamides and Cephalosporins are more likely to cause problems.
Supplement makers don't have to prove their products are safe, and some can damage the kidneys. Those can be especially harmful if you have kidney disease because they can make the condition worse or affect how some medicines work. Kidney process everything you eat or drink, including which is bad like lots of salt, fat and sugar. A bad diet, over the time, can lead to High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Obesity and other conditions hard  on kidneys. A healthy diet has lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and few processed foods.

Watch Salt - This mineral effects in different ways. For some, it seems to raise amount of protein in urine. That can harm kidneys or make kidney disease worse. Lot of salt also raises chances of high blood pressure,. A typical cause of kidney disease and stones, which can be very painful and possibly cause damage.

Drink enough water - It helps to get important nutrients to kidneys and move waste to bladder in the form of urine. Even mild dehydration can damage kidneys if it happens often enough. Four to six cups a day is typically right, but may be more if one is out in heat or sick.

Exercise - It prevents conditions like Diabetes and Heart disease that can lead to kidney damage. Work your way up to 30 to 60 minutes at least five days in a week. Start slow.

Be careful with Alcohol - A drink or two isn't likely to hurt your kidneys. But more drinks can lead to weight gain, Liver Disease and High Blood Pressure and other conditions that put pressure stress on kidneys.

Quit smoking - It raises the risk of kidney cancer and damages blood vessels which affects kidneys by slowing blood flow to them/ 

The two most common conditions that affect kidneys are Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. A balanced diet and regular exercise can help keep both under control/ With Diabetes, it's important to keep a close watch on Blood sugar levels and take insulin when it is needed. Blood Pressure and Cholesterol can be controlled by medicines.
