Robotics and Artificial Intelligence

While drawing a comparison between Artificial Intelligence and Robots, first thing is to clarify that Artificial Intelligence and Robotics are not the same thing at all. These two things are entirely separate. It is surprisingly difficult to get the experts agree exactly what constitutes a "Robot". Some people say that Robot must be able to "think" and make decisions. However, there is no standard definition of "Robot Thinking". Requiring a Robot to think suggests that it has some level of Artificial Intelligence.

ROBOTS
Robots are programmable machines which are able to carry out a series of actions autonomously or semi-autonomously. There are three important factors which constitute a Robot -
1. Robots interact with the physical world via Sensors and Actuators.
2. Robots are programmable.
3. Robots are usually Autonomous or semi- autonomous.
There are six types of Industrial Robots -
1) CARTESIAN - Its controls are Linear (move in straight line rather than rotate) and at right angles to each other. The three sliding joints are moving wrist down-up, in one and back forth. This type of Robot is a computer numerical machine and 3 D printing.
2) SCARA - Scara is " Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arms" is used in electronics industry. They are stiff in vertical direction but have a degree of compliance in horizontal plane enabling minor errors in placement of components.To be accounted for small in size & capable of operating at high speed.
3) CYLINDRICAL - are used for assembly operations, handling machine tools, spot welding & handling Die casting machines.
4) DELTA - consists of three arms connected to universal joints in the base.Best used in packaging,
Medical & Pharmaceutical industry. For its stiffness, it is used in surgery.
5) POLAR- Spherical Robot used for handling machine tools, Gas and Arc welding, Used for pick and place work.
6) VERTICALLY ARTICULATED - Robots with rotary joints. Powered by electric motorscan range from two jointed structure to systems with ten or more interacting joints.
There are different types of Robots used for household jobs.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Artificial Intelligence is a branch of Computer Science. It involves developing computer programs to complete tasks which would otherwise require human intelligence. Artificial Intelligence algorithms
 (a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem solving operations especially by a computer) can tackle Learning, Perception, problem-solving, Language -understanding and /or logical reasoning. Artificially intelligent Robots are the bridge between Robotics and A.I. These are Robots which are controlled by AI programs.

There are five programming languages best for Artificial Intelligence -
1) Python - Best for listing A.I. development languages due to simplicity.
2 R - Effective for environment of Analyzing and Data for statistical purposes.
3) LISP - Supports the implementation of software that computes with symbols, its application paid well for US investments in A.I. research.
4) Prolog - Be used for WEB programming, can be translated into Binary code.
5) JAVA - Stands for " Just Another Virtual Accelator". It is a programming language to create applications on computer.
