Understanding Artificial Intelligence

The founder of Artificial intelligence was Prof. John Mccarthy, an American Computer scientist
at Stanford university, USA. He along with Prof. Newell and Prof. Simon designed the modern
first Artificial Intelligence program in a conference held at Dartsmouth in 1955.
 A true Artificial Intelligence system is the one which can learn on its own. It is all about the networking which can make connections and reach meanings without relying on Pre-defined behavioral algorithms. True A.I. can improve on past iterations, getting smarter & more aware, allowing it to enhance its capabilities and knowledge.
     
It is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines i.e. by computers. The machines
are designed and programmed in such a manner that they can think and act like a human being. Artificial intelligence is becoming important part of our daily life since this technology is used
in a wide area of day today services.

The processes includes Learning (Acquisition of information and rules), Reasoning (using rules
to arrive at conclusions (definite or approximate), language understanding  and self correction. Particular applications of Artificial intelligence includes expert systems, speech recognition
and machine vision.  Within next five years, it is expected that A.I. and Machine learning
will be imbedded in all forms of technology that incorporates Data analysis and Exchange. 

Artificial intelligence has many applications in today's society. It is used to develop and advance
in numerous fields and industries including Banking and Finance, Healthcare, Education,
Navigation and travel, Computer science, Cyber security & surveillance, Job search & Smart
home devices to name a few. It is being used in the form of smart phone devices, drones, social
media feeds, Music and media streams, as also online networking
The use of smart home devices is getting more popularity in UK, USA and European countries.

My daughter, working as a Sr. Scientist, living in Brussels, Belgium is using robotic Vacuum
as a home cleaner. According to her, this device is capable of scanning room size, identifying obstacles and remembering most efficient routes and methods. A latest addition to this is voice recognition on which Robot can function. A latest addition to devices is the device called Alexa
which can control various smart devices using itself as a effective home automation system.
The system is capable of voice interaction, Music play backs, making to-do lists, setting Alarms,
streaming podcasts, playing audio books, providing weather, traffic, sports and Real time
information.
I shall continue on the subject " Understanding Artificial Intelligence" with new additions in
my next edition.

IMF suggestions for India Growth Rate

India's growth accelerated to 7.7.% in 4th quarter of 2017-18 (F.Y.) which was up from 7% in the previous quarter. UAE consists of seven Emirates founded and declared their independence from Britain on 2nd December, 1971 as a federation.
